GSIR-400 Concealed Carry Fundamentals
Class description: This is one of the more advanced classes we offer. GSIR-400 Concealed Carry Fundamentals is designed to develop the skills associated with concealed carry. You will learn how to draw and perform reloads from concealment. How to choose the right gear for the right circumstances. Students will also learn about the “carry mindset” and how to recognize and avoid dangerous situations, as well as de-escalation or flight from dangerous situations. And finally, implementation of force up to and including the use of deadly force in a self-defense situation. This is an 8-hour class that includes shooting. We also offer 2-day class (4 hours each day).
What you will learn:

- Concealment firearm options
- Concealment gear options
- Drawing and reloads with a cover garment
- Understand the “carry mindset”
- Levels of awareness (hard vs. soft target)
- Understand force continuum
- Cover vs. Concealment
- Moving off the X
What to bring:
- A functional handgun (no revolvers or micro/pocket pistols)
- 150 rounds of ammunition
- Concealment garment (vest, button-down shirt, jacket, or open-front garment)
- Sturdy 1.5” belt
- A dominant-side, belt-mounted, outside-the-waistband holster
- 1 double magazine pouch or 2 single magazine pouches
- 3 magazines
Prerequisites: GSIR-300 or equivalent.
